Aquí us compartim un recull:

El ‘keynote speaker’ destacat de l’esdeveniment més relacionat amb el medi ambient és el de Ron Finley, que farà una ponència dinàmica i inspiradora.
Dia, hora i lloc: Auditori Principal, 15 de novembre de 17 a 17:30h
Títol de la sessió: Guerrilla Gardening Spearheading Greener Metropolises
Ponent: Ron Finley, Gangster Gardener, South Central L.A
Resum de la sessió: Known around the world as the Gangsta Gardener, on 2010 Ron Finley set out to reclaim the neglected dirt patches next to the streets by planting vegetables. After a turf war with the City of Los Angeles for gardening without a permit, he managed to change the law and allow local communities to use parkways as communal gardens. Ten years later, these gardens have not only grown vegetables but have also created healthier and more sustainable communities. How can other cities become greener by leading their own horticulture revolution?
Sessions rellevants de temes ambientals

Cities at The Frontline of Climate Action
Espai, dia i hora: Auditori Principal, 26 de novembre de 10:15h a 11:00h
Resum de la sessió: As greenhouse gas emissions continue to reach unsustainable levels and concerns on the lack of speed of the green transition keep raising worldwide, more voices are calling for clear decarbonization strategies in the post-pandemic era. How can we ingrain sustainability at the core of urban development? How can cities continue exploring innovative solutions to meet their energy needs while tackling climate change?

An Energy Mix to Bring us to Net Zero
Dia i hora: 16 de novembre de 11:30h a 12:20h
Resum de la sessió: Science is showing that global temperature increases should be limited to 1.5ºC to minimize the effects of global warming. As cities are large consumers of energy and responsible for most emissions, shifting from traditional fossil fuels to renewable and sustainable energy sources is mandatory to dramatically minimize them. This session will explore the current challenges and lessons learned on net zero and energy transition. What are the available sources of energy in cities? Can cities’ commitments reach 100% renewables?

Reaching Circularity in Urban Services
Dia i hora: 15 de novembre de 16:15h a 17:00h
Resum de la sessió: The consequences of the linear economy model of take, make, consume and waste are already visible in cities, as they are big consumers, waste generators and GHG emitters. Circularity has emerged as a response to reduce and overcome the sustainable challenges by making, reusing and recycling. This session will explore how cities are implementing circularity in consumption and optimization of urban services and its main challenges, as well as it will showcase new technological innovations, infrastructure adaptations and how to successfully motivate citizens to follow this sustainable model.
Are Climate Agendas Strong Enough?
Dia i hora: 15 de novembre de 14:15h a 15:00h
Resum de la sessió: The future of urbanization is already suffering the impacts of climate change, and cities must learn how to face this global challenge as they are at the forefront of climate action and responsible for most GHG emissions. As local authorities are investing in ambitious mitigation and adaptation actions to build up climate resilience, this session will explore what cities are already lowering emissions, sharing their learned lessons, and collaborating with the private sector, civil society, academia, and regional governments to achieve ambitious climate targets.
Unprecedented Solutions to the Climate Emergency
Dia i hora: 15 de novembre de 15:30h a 16:15h
Resum de la sessió: As climate change is a global challenge that we are already battling, cities all around the world are already coming up with solutions to mitigate the effects of this environmental emergency. How are new technologies and data management helping us? How are cities ensuring sustainability while boosting their economic development?

Stockholm’s Pathway Towards Becoming Energy Positive
Dia i hora: 16 de novembre de 11:00h a 11:30h
Resum de la sessió: Most of the latest urban development projects are designed with the idea of reducing greenhouse gas emissions and creating more sustainable environments, for citizens’ health and for a better future for the planet. Stockholm’s ambition to become a positive energy city has driven them to project a new district with plus-energy buildings that can produce more energy than they consume. How has it been developed? Is it possible for other cities to be energy-positive?

Communities Achieving a Net-Zero World
Dia i hora: 15 de novembre de 13:45h a 14:15h
Resum de la sessió: What are cities doing towards the SDGs and carbon neutrality? Communities are key players as they are the first in line when it comes to sustainable actions. Education, knowledge, awareness towards emissions and resilience are some of the ways citizens engage to become net-zero.
